Overnight on a direct flight to Delhi.
Upon arrival into Delhi you will be met by our representative taken to your hotel. Stay 2 nights at The Claridges Hotel.
Today you will be taken for a full-day sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi, visiting the Jama Masjid Mosque, Humayun's Tomb, Red Fort and the Qutab Minar as well as seeing the architecture of Delhi's colonial heritage. Your room will be available to you until your late check out. You will be taken to the station to board the overnight express to Kathgodam. You will travel by First Class Sleeper. On arrival at Kathgodam you will be met and transferred to Almora. En route your driver will stop at a local hotel for breakfast. On arrival into Almora spend the rest of the day at leisure. Stay 2 nights at Deodars Resort. (Full Board)
This morning there is a leisurely morning walk around the local area. There are several temples to visit and some stunning views down the valley. (Full Board)
This morning you will begin the Village Walk. The walk is of a gentle nature, following meandering streams through the valleys and traversing hills of rhododendron and pine forests. Beginning at 1900 meters the first day will take you down to 1400 meters. The evening is spent staying in a local village house, which has been completely renovated, but retains the authenticity without compromising the guests' comfort. Dinner is prepared by the head of the village and the evening spent getting to know your hosts (Full Board)

Today's walk is more of a flat terrain walk. There will be plenty of opportunities to stop en route for photographs. On arrival into the village of Alai you have the opportunity to learn some of the culinary skills of the region as you watch dinner being prepared (Full Board)

Gradient: Relatively flat
Altitude: 1500-1450 meters
The first part of today's walk takes you through a canyon of forest, crossing streams and fields as you go. The afternoon walk takes you up to an altitude of 2200 meters, and offers breathtaking views of some of the highest peaks in the Himalayas, Nanda Devi being of particular interest. Overnight in the village of Jwalabanj where you will have the local dancers perform for you and the rest of the village. (Full Board).

Gradient: Predominantly uphill with a steeper incline towards the end of the walk.
Altitude: 1450 - 2200meters
On the final day, with the peaks in view, you set off on a gentle walk down the valley through cedar forests and past terraced fields. A visit to Jageshwar Temple complex built between the 8th and 12th Century, provides further insight into the history of the region. Your driver will then meet you and drive you back the Deodars Resort, where its possible to enjoy a relaxing massage and have time to reflect on your recent walks. Thsi morning travel through spectacular mountain scenery to Nainital, a hill station on a pretty lake, which is popular with Indian holiday makers. Stay one night at Abbottsford, a colonial summer house with splendid views of the surrounding mountains. (Full Board).
Early morning start as you drive to Corbett National Park. Stay 3 nights at Corbett Hideaway River lodge, which is located within the park boundary, and overlooks the Ramganga River. (Full Board).
Corbett was the first nature reserve established in India to protect the tiger. Currently the tiger population is about 130. As well as tiger the park is home to a healthy population of wild elephants. Today you'll have a very early morning drive by 4x4 to Dikhala, deep in the heart of Corbett. An excellent opportunity for viewing herds of elephants at their natural watering holes, as well as looking out for tiger. (Full Board and Game Drives)
Hideaway River Lodge has its own elephant which can be used for a unique tiger safari. Early morning game drive atop the elephant gives one a privilidges vantage pojt and allows quiet tracking and a close encounter if very lucky. (Full Board and Game Drives).
This morning return to the park gates where your driver will be waiting. Continue by road to Delhi. Stay the night at Tikli Bottom.(Full Board).
Morning departure for the airport for your return flight. (Breakfast).
