Aman-I-Khas takes the tented safari experience to a new level, and is a luxury wilderness camp located on the fringes of Ranthambore National Park. The 10 air-conditioned tents, with soaring six-metre canopies above draped cotton partitions are designed and decorated in a magical Moghul interpreted style. The subtle hues of creamy canvas, swathes of airy-white cotton, khaki cushions on toffee coloured ‘hide' contrast in soft elegance against the wondrous colours of Rajasthan. The menu changes regularly, and is invariably excellent. A signature Aman Spa is also present. A stay here is a really chic and adult experience, surrounded by breathtaking beauty.

The Oberoi Vanyavilas was India's first luxury jungle resort and has the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve as its neighbour. Like the hunting parties of old, guests stay in tents - but tents with a sumptuous difference. There are 25 of them all air conditioned with a private walled-garden and sun deck to relax in, and the four poster beds and roll top bath ensure a very comfortable stay, and a heated swimming pool and spa make the time between game drives pleasantly relaxed.
