Over the many years we have been sending guests to stay at our favourite Keralan homestay, Kanjirapally Estate we have realised that guests have come to love the guided walks around this working cardamom and coffee plantation by their hosts Mathew and Gita - take some binoculars as the forests is home to many birds. Whilst there be sure to do a day's walking with a guide inside Periyar National Park, south India's most popular national park, and mainly famed for the herds of wild elephant who roam the park. Munnar, set amongst some of south India's most dramatic mountain scenery and manicured tea estates, has plenty of picturesque walks in the vicinity. Stay at Windermere Estate with its vast variety of evergreen trees under the shade of which the cardamom is cultivated it's an ideal venue for trekking enthusiasts.
